Francisco San Martin, the actor best known for his role in the daytime soap opera “,” has died. He was 39.
San Martin died in his Los Angeles home Thursday of a “ligature hanging,” according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner.
The medical examiner’s office did not elaborate on his cause of death.
The actor’s body of work includes the role of Dario Hernandez on “Days of Our Lives,” and Mateo on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
San Martin also starred opposite in the CW’s “Jane the Virgin,” where he played a telenovela star who entices Jane with his good looks.
He also appeared in the 2013 HBO feature film “Behind the Candelabra,” directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon.
