According to a new opinion poll released by Intermon, millionaires are deeply concerned about the effects of extreme concentration of wealth. More than 370 millionaires and billionaires sign an open letter to world leaders meeting in Davos to demand that a limit be set and that the super-rich pay more taxes. This survey reveals that 63% of millionaires around the world believe that the influence of the super-rich on the Trump presidency is a threat to global stability. The survey is published alongside ‘We Must Draw The Line’, an open letter signed by millionaires and billionaires urging political leaders to address the corrosive effects of the extreme concentration of wealth in our democracies and society in general. More than 370 millionaires and billionaires from 22 countries, including Abigail Disney, Marlene Engelhorn, Brian Eno and Richard Curtis, have signed the letter, which is published after the inauguration of billionaire President Donald Trump. The survey of 2,902 millionaires in G20 countries analyzes in depth the risks and effects of extreme concentration of wealth and the political solutions necessary to confront it. Furthermore, it raises very directly the concern of millionaires about the impacts that the extreme concentration of wealth and the power of the super-rich are having on the stability of democracies, the control of the media and social networks, the judicial systems and political integrity.
