In the confrontation between Vitória and CRB, the emotion was present from the first minute. In the debut match between the two teams in Group A of the Copa do Nordeste, the Maceió club took the lead twice with Anselmo Ramon and Léo Pereira, but Leão did not give up at the Rei Pelé stadium and tied. First with Janderson and then with Neris.
Before the ball rolled, the change in the lineup demonstrated that coach Thiago Carpini must maintain the pragmatic mentality, shown last season, in relation to who starts the games. Without Wellington Rato in his best form and with Matheuzinho out due to injury, the three defenders looked like they would offer security to the full-backs, in addition to the three midfielders. However, Leão proved to be fragile defensively and did not perform well.
With the point gained away from home, Vitória did not debut in the way they imagined, mainly because Nordestão was the club’s objective in the first half of the year. With no time to regret, the Red and Blacks return to the field this Saturday (25), when they face Colo-Colo at Arena Fonte Nova, for the Campeonato Baiano. The ball rolls at 6:30 pm.
Vitória’s start to the match was proof that the red and black team adapts to the opponent. When Lucas Esteves went up to attack, Zé Marcos acted as a left-back, just as Neris occupied the role on the right to cover Claudinho. The two center forwards moved to create dynamics in the last line, just as the midfield was organized in different ways.
Despite the movement shown by the team, an error paralyzed Leão’s growth. When the ball was released, Zé Marcos tried to pass back to Wagner Leonardo, but missed the pass and delivered it to the feet of Anselmo Ramon. The CRB center forward activated striker Léo Pereira, who crossed the ball to Lucas Arcajo’s defense. On the rebound, Anselmo Ramon pushed the ball into the open goal, opening the scoring at Rei Pelé.
After the goal conceded, Leão appeared more fragile. The club launched an attack, but demonstrated difficulty in breaking through the blockade set up by the Alagoans. When attacked, CRB was able to arrive easily by exploiting counterattacks with the speed of the wingers. Within this strategy, the home team retreated the entire team when the red-blacks had possession.
After the break, Carlos Eduardo took on Fabri’s role, while the opponent kept the same players. It was Galo de Campina, in fact, who came back best after the break. The home team soon scared the Bahians with two good chances in the first 10 minutes. In the second play, Lucas Arcanjo had to make a great save to prevent CRB from scoring.
The improvement of the Alagoas team found the way to score again in the individuality of its players. Anselmo Ramon competed in the body with Wagner Leonardo and did better in the move. The striker found Léo Pereira with a trivela throw and the CRB player – free – shot at Arcanjo’s corner to get back ahead in the match.
The Lion’s response came soon after. In the 20th minute of the second half, Vitória took a short corner and Claudinho lifted it into the area. Wagner rose above the opponent’s defense and headed towards the center of the crowd formed in the area. The ball fell to defender Neris, who set up the shot and shot the ball into the CRB net. Despite other chances on both sides, that was it.
