BNDES announces another R$4.8 billion for credit under the Safra Plan

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) will make an additional 4.8 billion reais available for credit operations under the 2024-2025 Harvest Plan programs, the bank said this Thursday in a statement.

Of the total amount, 2.1 billion reais goes to family farming and the rest to lines aimed at corporate agriculture.

According to the bank, the resources can be used by rural producers, cooperatives and family farmers to finance and invest in production, purchase of machinery and equipment, storage and innovation.

The bank still has 11 billion reais available in the different Agricultural Programs of the Federal Government (PAGF), highlighted the BNDES.

“Our objective is to ensure that small and medium-sized producers have access to the necessary credit to invest in innovation, modernization and sustainable practices, strengthening the production chain and contributing to the transition to a greener economy”, said the president of BNDES, Aloizio, in the statement. In the 2024-2025 Harvest Plan, BNDES has already approved 27.9 billion reais in resources and responded to requests for more than 126 thousand indirect operations, whose resources are transferred by financial agents that are partners of the development bank.
