The (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) approved R$3.6 billion last year, the highest amount since 2018 and almost double the amount recorded in 2023.

The figure includes financing and credit intended for automakers and the auto parts sector. The majority (R$2.2 billion) went to automakers, while R$1.4 billion went to auto parts.

In the first two years of the government, the total volume approved by the bank totaled R$5.5 billion — all data was corrected by the IPCA, the official inflation index. In the four years of the (PL) government, the total volume was R$5.85 billion.

In 2017 and 2018, under the government of (MDB), the total was R$5.7 billion, and in 2016, the year of the impeachment of the former president (PT), the sum reached R$7 billion.

“At the same time that investment in the automotive sector fosters a high-value-added production chain, we are also encouraging the production of hybrid and electric cars, contributing decisively to the energy transition and decarbonization”, says the president of BNDES, Aloizio Merchant.

The vice-president (PSB), Minister of Development, says that there have been investments of R$130 billion for the sector in the last two years, encouraged by the Mover program.

“And in 2024, there was a 15% jump in new vehicle sales, an 11% increase in vehicle production and the creation of 100,000 jobs,” he said.
