According to the Ukrainian Department of Diplomacy, the Slovak Prime Minister should rather think about his own steps, which, according to Kyiv, are causing tension in Slovak society.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is trying to intimidate society in Slovakia with his statements that there is a group of experts in the country who allegedly participated in the organization of the events on the Kyiv Maidan in late 2013 and early 2014 and are now seeking a coup in Slovakia. This was announced at Thursday’s press briefing by the spokesman of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Heorhiy Tychy, reports TASR with reference to the Ukrainian agency Ukrinform.
“We consider these statements to be an attempt to intimidate Slovak society and consolidate our own electorate – nothing more and nothing less. The leadership in Georgia did the same. It’s a standard fairy tale,” said the spokesman of the Ukrainian ministry.
He added that the Slovak prime minister should rather think about his own actions, which, according to Kyiv, are causing tension in Slovak society.
“It looks like the Slovak prime minister has pulled something out of the closet that has long been corrupted, which is no longer nice to use in public,” commented Fico’s statements about the Maidan, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Wednesday, Fico informed that there is a group of experts on the territory of the Slovak Republic that participated in the recent large-scale anti-government demonstrations in Georgia and years ago in the events on the Maidan in Kyiv, which led to the fall of the government of the then President Viktor Yanukovych.
According to Fico, this group is funded by the US. On Thursday, after the meeting of the Security Council of the Slovak Republic, he pointed out that there are active structures in Slovakia that plan to provoke large-scale public protests, escalate them into violence and finally attempt a coup.
