Celebration will be held on February 21 and 22; should be one of the first trips of the petista since returning to Brasilia to recover from head surgery
The president (PT) will participate in the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Workers Party. The party will be held in Rio on 21 and 22 February. It will be open to the public, without the charge of tickets, only with the requirement of prior registration.
The trip should be one of the first that the president will perform after the recovery period of the one he held on the head on December 10. The procedure, a cranial fashion, was performed after a cerebral hemorrhage was found as a result of the fall that the petista had suffered in October 2024.
Lula performed the procedure in Sao Paulo, but returned to Brasilia on December 19. Initially, the doctors said the president could make short trips by plane. But then they recommended that the petista stay in the federal capital longer.
Lula will participate in the PT’s birthday on February 22. The information was confirmed by the PT Secretary of Communication, Jilmar Tatto, during a virtual plenary convened by the party to instruct federal, state deputies, councilors and petist local leaders on “Fake News communication and confrontation strategies”. The Minister of Secom (Secretariat of Social Communication), Sidônio Palmeira, participated.
The petista is one of the main founders of the party. His 2nd woman, Marisa Leticia (1950-2017), helped sew the 1st PT flag in the 1980s.
The event has as its slogan “roots in the people, eyes in the future.” It will be held at the Utopia Warehouse, in the Gamboa neighborhood, the port region of the state capital. There will be debates about the future of the PT and Brazilian society, cultural presentations, gastronomic fair, samba wheel and shows by popular artists.
