The ARCOlisboa contemporary art fair returns to Cordoaria Nacional, in Lisbon, between May 28 and 31, bringing together 84 galleries from 18 countries, the organization announced.
Of the total number of participants in the 30 galleries are Portuguese, representing around 35% of the fair, while the rest are foreign.
The main program includes 61 galleries selected by the organization, including premieres and returns of participants from previous editions.
This year’s edition also features the “Opening Lisbon” section, dedicated to emerging galleriesand with the curatorial project “Archipelago of Art Stories”, focused on artistic practices linked to memory and the transmission of knowledge.
The program also includes aanthological exhibition dedicated to the artist Jorge Martins and an exhibition of works from the EDP Foundation collections, integrated into the celebrations of MAAT’s 10th anniversary.
In addition to the fair, several museums and cultural institutions in the city, such as CAM Gulbenkian, MAC/CCB and MNAC, join the initiative with exhibitions and side events.
The organization expects the presence of more than 150 international guests linked to the art market. In the most recent edition, ARCOlisboa exceeded 14 thousand visitors.
To attract younger audiences, entry will be free for visitors up to 25 years old on May 29th and 30th, between 4pm and 9pm.
