The influencer and the Bolsonaro family have returned to exchanging attacks in recent days amid the dispute between the 2026 presidential elections.
The councilor said on social media this Saturday (25) that the self-styled ex-coach tries to destroy the ex-president and lies covertly.
Marçal, who won the elections for São Paulo City Hall last year, is tipped for a plan that does not please Bolsonaro, who prefers a first-time ally in the electoral race, such as one of his sons.
On Thursday (23), in an interview with CNN, the former president was asked about the possibility of Marçal running for office and replied that he is “out of the question” and that he avoids “talking about this guy”.
To run for President, the influencer needs to free himself from actions in the Electoral Court that could make him ineligible.
In the same interview, Bolsonaro stated that his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), but then retreated and said that she should run for the Senate.
Later, in a column by Igor Gadelha, from Metrópoles, the former president stated that, “if he had to include someone from the family”, that person would be the senator or the federal deputy.
On Friday (24), also on CNN, Marçal refuted Bolsonaro’s statement, stating that he “is out of the game” and that “he only considers candidates who are related to him.”
The attacks take place in the wake of the inauguration of the North American president, which also involves social media between Marçal and the Bolsonaro family.
The former first lady and deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro traveled to and participated in a restricted ball to celebrate the inauguration, but in the inauguration ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda.
At the same time, Marçal stood next to Trump, implying that the registration had been made at an event celebrating the inauguration. The recording was captured, however, at the beginning of the month, at the president’s resort in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, as the influencer admitted to the newspaper O Globo.
“I stopped releasing the videos after the inauguration because the Bolsonarists are going crazy. They want to make me an enemy of the right,” he told the Malu Gaspar column.
Carlos Bolsonaro criticized Marçal’s video on social media, including in a post by Sheet. “The system doesn’t launch this video for nothing as if it were something cool and new,” he wrote.
Marçal and the Bolsonaro family had an exchange during last year’s municipal elections, when the former president’s voters decided to vote for the influencer despite Jair’s guidance, who nominated the retired colonel to be the mayor’s deputy.
The former president took a while to embark on Nunes’ candidacy and, when he did, the gesture was poorly received among part of his electorate. Criticized by his own base, Bolsonaro and his children had to fight the self-styled ex-coach.
