There was no shortage of provocations after São Paulo overcame rival Corinthians and won the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior this Saturday (25). After the match, São Paulo midfielder Matheus Alves responded to alleged provocations made by Corinthians players before the title decision.
“The friends on the other side said they were going to crush it, they said they were favorites, but they forgot that the other side is the champion of everything, . Now, they cry with the silver medal, and I laugh with the gold medal”, said Alves.
This puts an end to São Paulo’s five-year fast without winning the competition. The 2025 campaign, under the command of Allan Barcelos, saw ten wins and one draw in the 11 games played.
With five titles, Internacional is in the ranking of the tournament’s greatest champions. The leader in this regard continues to be Corinthians, who lifted the cup on 11 occasions – the last of which was in 2024.
