The first three hostages freed since a week ago on the first day of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas were all released from hospital today, the hospital where they were taken said.
In a statement, Simba Hospital, near Tel Aviv, said the hostages “who were airlifted to Simba for treatment were discharged today.”
Emily Damari, Doron Steinbrecher and Romi Gonen, three young Israeli women kidnapped during the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, were released on January 19 in exchange for the release of 90 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.
After being handed over to the Red Cross in Palestinian territory and driven across the border to an Israeli military base, they were taken to hospital.
Simba said it would continue to “monitor them according to their needs in the future”, without giving details about their condition or the treatments they are being given.
Another four Israeli hostages, aged 19 to 20, who were kidnapped on October 7, were released yesterday from the Gaza Strip in exchange for about 200 Palestinian prisoners. The hospital where they were taken also said they were in “stable condition”.
