Approximately a million people fled in October 2023 to the south and could not return. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of people remained in the north, where one of the most difficult struggles took place and where the worst destruction during the war occurred.

“More than 376,000 people, according to estimates, have returned to towns of its origin in the north of Gaza after the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two main roads along the Necarim corridor, which leads north, said in a statement to the current situation.

Israel this week on Monday for the first time since the beginning of the 15-month war against the Palestinian militant movement Hamas allowed the Palestinians to return to the destroyed northern part of the Gaza Strip in accordance with the conditions of the currently valid ceasefire.

The opening was delayed two days because of the dispute between Hamas and Israel, who said the militant group has changed the order of hostages, which it was released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

The aim of the ceasefire is to end the most devastating and smashing war between Israel and Hamas in history and to ensure the release of dozens of hostages captured in the attack of the 7th October 2023 militants, which the fight has caused, writes AP.
