Wichita-Washington, a very new and desired route
The American Eagle flight that covers the route between Wichita and Washington, DC, was inaugurated just a year ago, in January 2024, as Jesse A. Romo, the director of the airport at a press conference recalled. The distance between both cities is about 2,000 kilometers, and it takes about 19 hours to cover it by road. With departure at five in the afternoon from the Dwight D. Eisenhower airport, it is the only direct flight of the day, of a little less than three hours.
As usual in the United States, in addition, there are no public transport routes that join both cities. Hence, the inauguration of this journey has been highly appreciated by the Wichita community, of just 400,000 inhabitants, who has seen it as a way of promoting tourism and business trips with the capital of the country.
