The former governor of Minas Gerais (MDB) died at the age of 86 at dawn on Sunday (2.Jan.2025) in Belo Horizonte. Newton was admitted to the Orizonti Hospital, in the Mangabeiras neighborhood, in the south-central region of the capital of Minas Gerais. The family did not disclose the reason for the hospitalization.
The former chief of the mining executive died because of a multiple organ failure. The information was released through a note on the social networks of his son, the Federal Deputy (MDB).
