The Carnival of Loulé again combines the satire and the revelry to reflection on a serious theme. In 2025, the parade, which will take place on March 2, 3 and 4 on Avenida José da Costa Mealha, will be inspired by the problems of the lack of water in the Algarve and is under the motto “Carnival is not a drought…” .
The event, considered the oldest carnival in the country, will feature 15 floats, about 600 animators, samba schools, animation groups, heads, gigantones and a lot of political and social satire, providing a dynamic and interactive show, where the public It is also part of the party.
The drought that has plagued the region in recent years will be one of the central themes, noting the recreation of the long-awaited desalinizing in one of the floats, which will be presented firsthand to the public. Another highlight is a car dedicated to the rural world Algarve, starring the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, José Manuel Fernandes, and the iconic Zé Povinho. Cristiano Ronaldo, a recurring figure at the Carnival of Loulé, returns this year to the parade to represent his luxurious life in Saudi Arabia and the millionaire renewal of his contract.
