The Senate of the United States, led by the Republicans, confirmed Pam Bondi As a new US Secretary of Justice on Tuesday (4), taking one of President Donald Trump’s most fierce allies to the highest post of US law.
The 54 to 46 vote to confirm former Florida State Attorney General will help Trump solidify her control over the US Department of Justice, who recently suffered comprehensive cuts aiming at FBI promoters and agents who investigated the attack on the capitol of USA on January 6, 2021 by the president’s supporters.
Democratic Senator John Fetterman joined all 53 Republicans to vote for Bondi.
Bondi, 59, promised to maintain the department’s independence during a confirmation hearing last month, telling parliamentarians that she will not inject politics into criminal or civil investigations.
But parliamentarians are still concerned about the possibility of resisting Trump’s potentially improper or illegal orders after the dismissal of dozens of prosecutors who sued criminal accusations against him.
After taking office on January 20, Trump signed a decree criticizing what he called the federal agencies of law and intelligence agencies and ordered the head of the Justice Department to “analyze the activities of all departments to analyze the activities of all departments and agencies that exercise civil or criminal application authority ”.

Bondi, who spent decades as a promoter, represented Trump during his first impeachment trial. She also repeated some of her false allegations about electoral fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
The new Secretary of Justice has a participation in Trump’s media company, Trump Media and Technology Group, according to the financial disclosures she presented to the government ethics office.
