Civil Police arrest trio that created fake auto parts sites; Group required early payment and did not deliver products

São Paulo arrested 3 people and blocked 5 fake sites in operation against cyber frauds on Thursday (6.Fev.2025). The group caused a loss of $ 6 million to consumers with the fictional sale of automotive parts.

Police served 21 court orders in Sao Paulo, Santo André, Mauá and Praia Grande. Among the detainees are a man and two women. The investigation, which lasted 8 months, resulted in the seizure of electronic equipment and documents.

The group created pages that mimicked legitimate stores and offered products with prices below the market. Criminals required payment via Pix, Billet or Bank Transfer. To deceive the victims, they sent false tracking codes and then blocked the contact.

After the operation, the investigated will be responsible for estelionato through electronic fraud, criminal association and money laundering.
