The Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, said on Friday, 7, that the government projects a reduction in food prices in the first half of 2025, driven by a record harvest scheduled for the period.

“This year, the expectation is from a supersafra. The climate is helping and, throughout this first semester, we will have the harvest. All data indicate that we will have a supersafra, which will result in the fall in food price. Therefore, the expectation is positive, ”said the minister in an interview with Portal Metro1 – Radio Metropole, from Bahia.

The announcement occurs amid concerns about the impact of inflation on the cost of living, which led President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to suggest that consumers avoid buying high prices as a way to press the market.
