After seven years of activity, the Essência restaurant, known for its privileged location on Manta Rota beach, served its last meal on January 7, 2025. The space, which became a gastronomic reference point in the Algarve, closed the doors , but not without first announcing a new phase for your customers.
From success to consecration
The Essence restaurant began its journey in 2018 in Vila Nova de Cacela, but quickly stood out and led the owners to look for a larger space. The following year, in 2019, the establishment moved to Manta Rota, where it won national and foreign customers.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought unexpected challenges, forcing several temporary closures. By 2020, the restaurant reopened for the summer time, but ended up closing again in the fall due to sanitary restrictions. Only in 2022 did the activity resist more consistently, functioning until the beginning of 2025, when he finished definitively.
New home, same commitment
Despite the goodbye to the Rota blanket, the owners guarantee that this is not a definitive farewell. In February 2025, there will be a new restaurant called Al.Fama, located at 15 of Infante Dom Henrique Street, in Cabanas de Tavira. On social networks, essence management left an emotional message: “We have good memories and the promise to continue the same quality in service and sympathy. It will not be the end of the book, but the end of a chapter that we will never forget. ”
With the opening of, customers who have gotten used to savoring seafood rice, bass with gambas’ bass and clams to Bulhão Pato will now discover new specialties in Tavira Cabanas.
