A fight involving Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG fans on Sunday (9) in Belo Horizonte left at least two men injured, one of them in serious condition.
The two clubs compete for the classic valid for the Mineiro Championship at 16h this Sunday in Mineirão. The duel will have only the presence of Cruzeiro fans, principal of the match.
According to information from the Military Police, the confrontation in the Venda Nova region left two fans injured, which were sent to the UPA and the Risoleta Neves Hospital. At least 48 involved were sent to the police station.
Videos shared on social networks show moments of the confrontation, with fans of both clubs throwing stones and rockets towards the opponents.
One of the publications shows a fallen, apparently unconscious fan, while Municipal Guard agents request medical attention.
All matches between Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG had a single cheer from January 2024, when clubs arrived at an agreement after a game at the MRV Arena, the alvinegro club stadium.
At the time, the request came from Atletico-MG after chairs and other structures were damaged by the visiting crowd, who complained that the women’s bathroom doors had been removed. Cruzeiro accepted the agreement, which is valid until the end of this year.
This Sunday’s confrontation marks another violent weekend in Brazilian football.
On Saturday (8), in the classic between Ceará and Fortaleza, 115 people were sent to police stations after clashes on the streets of the capital. Four other people who had arrested were arrested were arrested.
On the previous Saturday (1st), conflicts were recorded in various parts of Recife, before the match between Santa Cruz and Sport, with shocking images.
In one of the videos that came to light, a man is beaten, dragged by the street and, amid punches, kicks and stabbing, has his clothes torn and suffers sexual violence from men who wear dicks and iron bars.
Of the 13 people sent to the Restoration Hospital, one remains hospitalized. He is the president of Sport’s Young Cheerleader, João Victor Soares. For safety reasons, he was transferred to another hospital and no details are disclosed about his state.
