The accused advocates the Russian aggressive war against Ukraine and felt damaged in his national pride.

On Monday at the Regional Court in Munich, the trial with a Russian citizen defendant for the stabbing of two Ukrainian soldiers is continued last year. According to DPA, TASR reports this.

“As a proponent of exaggerated Russian nationalism, he defends the Russian aggressive war against Ukraine,” the indictment says. Both victims aged 23 and 36 recovered from war injuries after surgery in Murnau hospital in Upper Bavaria. .

The defendant knew both victims and decided to kill them

Men knew each other from previous meetings. Before the attack they drank together at the local bar and argued about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As a result, the defendant felt “damaged in his national pride,” the prosecutor’s office said in October. In April at the time of the incident he was 57 years old and in Germany he lived since the beginning of the 1990s.

He decided that he would kill both of the great Ukrainians and brought a knife from his nearby apartment. Men had considerable movement limitations after injuries and operations.

Given the possible political background of murder supervision, the case was taken over by the Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism at the Munich Prosecutor’s Office.
