Investigations on the ambush suffered by members of the organized Blue Mafia, from Cruzeiro, in October, in Mairiporã, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, point out that it was meticulously planned by the Alviverde Mancha, Palmeiras. The uniform has always denied involvement.
The report had access to the case file in which Jorge Luis Sampaio Santos, who was the president of the organized when the case occurred, and other Palmeiras are suspected of having committed murder and attempted murder against Cruzeirenses.
In the documents, there is the participation of more than 100 members of the Mancha in the entire process of planning and execution of the ambush. It is also reported that fans tampered with car license plates days earlier to make identification difficult.
Also according to the investigation, a day before the attack of 27 October, one of the members of the Mancha went to the crime scene, on the Fernão Dias Highway, in Mairiporã, to understand the operation of the region. It is one of the facts that underlie the argument that it was a planned action.
Jorge, who resigned in December to the presidency of Mancha, is appointed by police as the “intellectual mentor” of the ambush to the Blue Mafia. Described as an individual of “high hazardousness”, he would be the “main interested” in the retaliation of a previous confrontation among the organized in 2022, when he was beaten and had documents stolen by Cruzeirenses.
He had not been identified in the ambush recordings when he had the arrest warrant issued, but other evidence supported the authorities’ request. The location of the former president’s cell phone pointed out that Jorge was at the place where the attack on Cruzeirenses occurred.
In addition, according to the investigation, an aggressor was recorded raging the name of the then president of the Mancha while kicking a victim’s head: “It’s Jorge’s troop!”
According to his lawyer, Jacob Filho, the former president of Mancha declares himself innocent. The organized has also published a statement by denying the ambush.
“With more than 45,000 members, our fans cannot be held responsible for isolated actions of about 50 fans who disrespect the principles of respect and peace we promote and defend,” he said in a statement.
Jorge surrendered to the police on December 11 last year after more than a month on the run. He is arrested at the Guarulhos II Provisional Detention Center, but his defense has requested the transfer to the Tremembé Penitentiary to “ensure his physical integrity.”
Known as a “safe prison”, Tremembé houses the prisoners of cases of media, famous and former police. Jorge’s defense requested the transfer for fear that the suspect was caught by members of organized rivals.
The request was not answered by the court, which converted the temporary arrest to preventive, in view of Jorge’s criminal record.
