Star Wars: Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles – Review

There is an inexplicable magic in experimenting with old Star Wars games – even those who are not considered good. Long before becoming a property of Mickey and friends, George Lucas’s universe had countless games for all platforms. Some have managed to become cult classics, while others simply fall into oblivion.

Star Wars: Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles is one of those who were forgotten – and rightly so! Perhaps many of us have affective memories about this title, but revisiting its original version today will just prove how bad it was. So it’s hard not to be surprised by the fact that the game is getting a second chance with a better remaster than anything we could expect.

Revisiting the threat

Star Wars: Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles was originally released in 2000 for PS1, Dreamcast and GBA. It is a Up Beat ‘based on the first film of the main chronology (episode 1: The Phantom Threat)-which in its time was extremely Hypada for marking the return of such a beloved franchise and also hated for being boring.

The game did not build a reputation as much better than that of the movie. The charts were ugly (even at the time), the gameplay was very truncated and, overall, it was not something that would satisfy the most faithful fans for a long time. However, we all know that our critical sense is null and void during childhood, so any game can become the coolest thing in the world at this stage of life.

I think this is where the value of Jedi Power Battles is: in nostalgia. If you, at the height of your eight or nine years old, you’ve found this game as much as you can, then finally you can try it in a much better way! Of course, the situation will not be so much better than it used to be, as it remains the same game – but at least it has received some remarkable improvements.

What’s new?

The first obvious change is in the look, which is much better than the original game. There were not only HD textures here, but all characters of the characters were considerably enhanced. It still has that old but slightly more charming game climate.

A nice news is that all the characters available in the classic are already accessible from the beginning. In the past, it was necessary to play a lot to play with Darth Maul, AMIDALA Queen and some more random names-but here you can choose them from the beginning. Not least, it added it some unpublished playable characters, including none other than Jar Jar Binks (to the delight of who?).

we have different control schemes for all tastes, including the classic and one modern model. The gameplay remains truncated and this is inevitable, but at least the game is slightly more enjoyable to play.

The latest news was the addition of the local co-op, which was certainly very welcome in this title. The rule is clear: as much as a game is not cool to play alone, it always gets a thousand times better with friends. The variety of characters available also makes everything more interesting in this regard, so it’s worth a chance.

In the others, don’t expect Star Wars: Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles is as much better as they used to. This is definitely the most attractive version and anyone who wants to try it should bet on her without fear of being happy – but of all possible Star Wars games that deserve to be revisited, this is one of those that remain at the end of the list.
