The United States accepted the release of Russian Alexander Vinnik in exchange for American Marc Fogel, detained since 2021, revealed an American official on condition of anonymity.
Alexander Vinnik, an information technology expert, was extradited in August 2022 from Greece to the US, where he faced 21 accusations, including Identity theft, complicity in drug trafficking and money launderingthrough the BTC-e cryptocurrency exchange platform, closed in 2017.
