United States President Donald Trump said he plans to announce reciprocal trade tariffs on Thursday, but gave no other details about his latest tariff plan, which could reach all countries that charge US imports.
“Today is the big day: reciprocal tariffs,” Trump wrote on his social media platform.
Subsequently, he published that he will detail the latest package of tariffs at a press conference at 15h (Brasília time).
This will occur a few hours before the visit of India Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the White House.
Modi, which is scheduled for 6 pm, runs a government that imposes the highest tariffs on US exports than any other large US commercial partner.
The last round of tariffs has increased the fears of a global trade war and threatened to accelerate US inflation.
