On Tuesday (May 12), the Trenčín District Court found the former police officer guilty of the crime of obstructing justice, the continuing crime of abuse of authority of a public official and the offense of unauthorized handling of personal data. The verdict is not final, the defendant has appealed against the sentence. The prosecutor waived his right to appeal. The spokesman of the courts in Trenčín, Roman Tarabus, informed about it.

He imposed a prison sentence of four years with a four-year condition, the obligation to submit to a social training program or another educational program. The court also sentenced the defendant to confiscation of a mobile phone and penalty of banning any work and employment in the armed and security forces of the Slovak Republic for a period of five years.
The regional prosecutor accused him of by his actions, he thwarted the investigation into the murder of a woman who was found dead in a quarry in Trenčianske Miticy in the Trenčianske District. In addition, according to the indictment, at the request of various persons, he performed lustrations in vehicle records and provided personal data without authorization. At the main hearing, the defendant made a statement that he was guilty of committing the acts listed in the indictment.
