EU head of commerce will travel to Washington to negotiate Trump’s tariffs

European Commerce Commissioner, Maros Sefcovic, will travel to Washington on Monday, the European Commission said for meetings with its US counterparts that they should focus on US tariff threats.

US President Donald Trump is planning to impose 25% rates on all steel and aluminum imports from March 12 and “reciprocal” tariffs in April. The latter could affect EU car exports to the United States.

Sefcovic had a first telephone call with his American counterparts earlier this week.
