German Chancellor Olaf Scholz On Monday, he called on Europe to unify and prove support for Ukraine. According to Berlin, however, any discussion about the sending of German soldiers to Ukraine in the framework of possible peace forces “premature”. TASR writes about this according to AFP reports.

According to Scholz, it is important that European countries do everything they can to ensure a strong and uniform continent. “We need (united and strong Europe) for Ukraine, we need it for our own security,” He declared Scholz at a pre -election event in the Central German city of Kassel.

Government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmannová On Monday at a press briefing in Berlin, she said that Germany is not currently considering the mission of its troops to Ukraine. “We have repeatedly said that we must first wait and see if and how, perhaps, peace in Ukraine will be created,” the government spokeswoman in Berlin said. She responded to the United Kingdom’s announcement that London was ready for such a step.

The German government statements occurred just a few hours before the start of the European leaders’ summit in Paris with the aim of discussing the plans of US President Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine.

The informal meeting was agreed during the weekend Munich Security Conference. French President Emmanuel Macron invited only some European countries including Germany, Britain, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands and Denmark, represented by the Baltic and Scandinavian countries. Several uninvited countries criticized the summit on Monday. The start of the meeting is scheduled for 16:00.
