Criminal lawyer Antonio Carlos de Almeida Castro, the, released a text in groups of politicians and government allies in which he criticizes the president’s current term (PT).
Kakay says “it’s another Lula who is governing”, that the president is “isolated” and “is struggling to lose in 2026”.
“The Lula of the third term, by different, political and especially personal circumstances, is another. It does not do politics. It is isolated. Captured,” wrote the lawyer.
The lawyer told UOL that the text is just a reflection and that it remains one. “I’m not sending a message to anyone, I have immense admiration for Lula, I follow since before being president, but I think some things in this government need to change.”
President’s historic ally, Kakay received Lula at his home in December 2022 at a party after the president’s diplomation. He is also part of, which brings together lawyers and personalities of Brazilian politics.
The lawyer said that, on the day of Lula’s diplomation, a particular politician approached as he talked to the petista, put his hand on his shoulder and played. After leaving the wheel, Lula would have confided, laughing, “This will never be my minister and think it will be.” On January 1, this same politician assumed as minister.
“This is Lula’s brilliance at this difficult time. If it weren’t for his maturity, we wouldn’t have a chance to win,” says Kakay.
Kakay’s text was released after Lula’s approval reached the lowest level of all his mandates. A survey released last Friday (14) showed that the portion that approves the president’s government fell from 35% to 24%. The failure also reached a maximum of 41%.

Lula, the hope of democracy.
“Even cutting their own defects can be dangerous. You never know what defect sustains our entire building,” Clarice Lispector
Lula won three times and elected Dilma as her successor. At the time he would elect any of his ministers because he was unbeatable. Once, talking to a PT senator, he told me that he had a year trying to an audience with President Dilma. She didn’t do politics. Suffered impeachment.
One day in the Lula administration an opposition senator calls me at 11am and complains that he had assumed 15 days ago —era alternate— and that had not been received by Zé Dirceu, head of the Civil House. I called Zé. At 12:30 pm we were having lunch at the Planalto Palace. Zé —by far the most prepared of Ministers— He gave a show discussing the senator’s state of origin, who left there with Zé’s cell phone number and completely enchanted.
In this current government, Lula did the best he could face Bolsonaro and earn from fascism from preventing Bolsonaro’s four more years. It would be the end of democracy. It would be irrecoverably destroyed everything that was built in democratic governments, not only of the PT. Fascism ends everything. This is Lula’s biggest legacy. To this end it was necessary, otherwise we would not have won, to make a covenant too wide. Only Lula could unite and make this wide arc to defeat Bolsonaro.
Here at home, on the day of diploma, December 12, a certain politician approached at a time when Lula and I talked, put his hand on my shoulder and played. When leaving the wheel, Lula told me softly, laughing, “This will never be my minister and think it will be.” January 1st he assumed as minister. This is Lula’s brilliance at this difficult time. Were it not for his maturity we would not have a chance to overcome fascism. This is why I commit here some unkindness to comment on this fact: to highlight the maturity of President Lula.
But Lula from the 3rd term, by different, political and especially personal circumstances, is another. It does not do politics. It is isolated. Captured. There are no people by your side with the ability to talk about what he would have to hear. He no longer receives the old political friends and lost the best: his unparalleled ability to seduce, to hear, to look at the political scene.
The other day, some politicians confided to me that they can’t talk to the president. It is another Lula who is governing.
With the far right growing in the world, and evidently here in Brazil, the picture is very worrying. Without having the Lula we knew as president and without him having a group he had around him, we risk what seemed impossible: to lose the elections in 2026. Bolsonaro only lost because he was an inept. He had heard Ciro Nogueira and vaccinated, or was silent without offending the people, would have gained from the amount of money he spent. Losing a reelection is very difficult, but Lula is striving hard to lose. And don’t doubt him, he’ll make it.
Of course the circumstances are favorable to the project of losing the elections. I don’t give so much importance to these research done all the time. But I paid attention to this which indicates that 62% do not want Lula to be a candidate for reelection. The question is: Who is your natural successor? A group was not done around the president, who identifies with him and on From the natural political successor, the “group” of Lula we know who it is. And it will certainly not get it out of isolation. He today is a politician attached to the memory of his past. And isolated. I want to believe in the ability to meet again. Those who refer to after 580 days unjustly stuck can almost everything. And we have Haddad, the most phenomenal political of this generation in terms of preparation. A genius. Prepared and ready to assume your role.
I already look at the painting and cheering for the growth of a civilized right. With the condemnation of Bolsonaro and the prison, which can take place until September, we have to cheer for a centrist right, which removes fascism. May God apart from us!
It is necessary to remember Master Torquato Neto in the Poem of the final warning: “There must be some respect, at least a sketch or human dignity will affirm the ax.”
