Steve Bannon, a former White House and Donald Trump government, renewed his feud with Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and an important counselor of Trump, calling him “illegal parasitic immigrant” in an online interview This Tuesday (18).

Bannon made the comments in an interview with the Unherda British news site, which took place last week.

“Musk is an illegal parasitic immigrant. He wants to impose his strange experiments and act as God, without respect for the history, values or traditions of the country, ”Bannon told the interviewer. He seemed to refer to news that reports that Musk, born in South Africa and that became an aggressive voice against immigrants without permission in the US, would have exceeded his visa period while building a company in the United States. Musk denied the accusation.

Bannon has repeatedly criticized musk, calling him “truly evil person” before the inauguration last month and promising to prevent him from having full access to the White House. However, Musk, who initially annoyed Trump with his constant presence in Trump’s private club, Mar-Lago, during the presidential transition, became indispensable for Trump as an internal executive executor and efforts to cut spending and reduce the size of the federal workforce.

This made Musk a significant focus of anger by Democratic politicians, alongside the president who empowered him.

“It is evident that the president is using Musk as a perforating projectile that causes a striking trauma to the administrative state,” Bannon said in the interview. But he also described Musk’s work as “performative” and complained that Musk had not focused on the Pentagon, with which private companies in Musk have many contracts. (Trump suggested that Musk, at some point, will analyze Pentagon’s spending.)

Despite his dramatic and troubled departure from the White House in 2017, Bannon approached Trump again in the last year of Trump’s first term. Bannon is still a close ally and, more significantly, a popular figure within the Trump movement: his program, War Room, is closely watched by several Trump allies, besides the president himself.

Although Bannon has endorsed some of the efforts that the so -called Musk government’s so -called efficiency group is doing, he condemned him for not being pure in relation to the movement that boosted Trump back to office.

Musk has generally avoided responding to the provocations Bannon has made in recent months. Two weeks ago, he posted at X, his social network, an insult he used about several people in private discussions since joined Trump’s team.

“Bannon is a great speaker, but not a great director,” wrote Musk. “What did he manage to do this week? Nothing.”

Neither a representative of the White House nor Bannon responded immediately to a message about the interview.
