United Arab Emirates speak to Rubio who reject Palestinians

The United Arab Emirates leader spoke to United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on Wednesday (19) that he rejects a proposal to move Palestinians from his lands, said Emirates’s state news agency Wam.

President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan’s comments came after US President Donald Trump proposed Gaza’s taking by Americans and the resettlement of Palestinian inhabitants in Jordan and Egypt, causing wide opposition between Arab countries and western allies.

Nahyan commented to Rubio, during one, that it was important to link the reconstruction of Gaza to a path that led to “a comprehensive and lasting peace based on the solution of two states” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

It is important because it is one of the four Arab countries that normalized ties with Israel during the first Trump government and played a role in financing reconstruction work after previous conflicts.
