Chuo Meng from China has been awarded the best director For the film Living the Land (Šeng Si č ‘Ti), a social drama about four generations of peasants.
Another silver bear, for the best performance in the supporting role, received the Irish actor Andrew Scott For a role in Blue Moon, American director Richard Linklater. The award -winning ones also include the filmmakers of La Tour de Glace (Ice Tower) French director Lucile Hadjihalilovičová, for an exceptional artistic performance, or Jude from Romania to the best screenplay for the film Kontinental ’25. The winners in individual categories were announced by the jury during the gala evening, led by American screenwriter and director Todd Haynes. Berlinale, together with international film festivals in Cannes, France and Italian Venice, is one of the most prestigious events of its kind. This year, it was released over 240 new films from all over the world over ten days. This year, the honorary gold bear for the lifelong contribution was awarded by British actress Tilda Swinton.
