Flight AA292 had to be “escorted” by 2 military fighters as soon as it entered Italian airspace
The Boeing 787 from New York, USA, to Delhi, India, had to divert its original route on Sunday (23.FEV.2025) after bomb warning reached the crew.
The plane had completed 10 of the way between the 2 countries when it had to move the route to Rome in Italy. At the time of the warning, the plane flew over the Caspian Sea near Turkmenistan.
The deviation from the route was accompanied by a pair of Italian Air Force Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, as shown in social networking videos.
Breaking: American Airlines Flight AA292, traveling from New York (JFK) to New Delhi (DEL), has made an emergency diversion to Rome following a reported threat. The aircraft is currently being escorted by Eurofighter jets as it approaches the airport.
