The leader of the center-right bloc pointed out in ballot box research as a winner of this Sunday’s general elections, said he hopes to form the new government of the country to Easter, ie in the first half of April. “My wish is that we have finished forming a government to Easter at most,” Merz told the television network “Phoenix”, besides pointing out that, in the case of a two -part coalition, this could happen even earlier.

Also according to him, the final result of the election, which will define the composition of Parliament and, consequently, the party or coalition that will be more likely to form the new government, will only be known in another days. “So I will talk to all possible political parties in the democratic center of our country to make an attempt, which I hope to be successful, to form a good government in Germany,” he said.

Merz also made it clear that he is seeking a different coalition agreement from the previous government. “I want to avoid getting lost in the details, the general lines need to be correct,” he said.
