The president (PT) congratulated, by note on Monday (24), the new leader of, Friedrich Merz, elected last Sunday (23) and referred to the current moment of the world as “great geopolitical instability” .
Merz, from the moderate right -wing party, as the latest polls were pointed out before the result, against 20.8% of the populist legend.
“I want to greet Friedrich Merz and his party for yesterday’s election victory. His election occurs at a time of great geopolitical and geo -economic sensitivity, but also at the moment of great hopes and opportunities for joint gain,” says Lula’s note.
In compliance, the Brazilian president states that Germany is a friendly and “crucial partner of Brazil in defense of democracy and multilateralism”, as well as promoting sustainable development and protection of human rights.
“Our countries have a strong history of joint action for reforms in global governance. I am convinced that we will continue to work together to expand the convergences and complementarities for the increasingly competitive international insertion of both.”
The note also mentions the implementation of the agreement between Mercosur Eaea COP 30 in Brazil as facilitating paths of the partnership process between the two nations.
