President Luiz Inacio da Silva (PT) returned to live and hold meetings at, after more than a month out.
Lula and the first lady Rosângela Lula da Silva, Janja, lived provisionally in the Granja do Torto, another official residence in Brasilia, looking more from countryside.
The change, according to official information, was because the dawn was undergoing “continuous maintenance” processes, which would cover some of the rooms.
President Lula’s agenda indicated that all its public commitments would be in the palace of Alvorada, from 8am. He started with an interview for a radio station from Rio de Janeiro and then received ministers and other assistants.
It was the first time in over a month that their commitments were made at this place. Lula even held a major ministerial meeting at Granja do Torto, with all 38 members of the first echelon of the government.
Even before the works in Dawn, the president used to spend part of his weekends at Granja do Torto. In November, Janja had published on her social networks image of the result of a work, which created an official waterfall that flowed into a lake with carp.
During his first two terms, Lula used to organize informal events at the crooked, such as barbecues and soccer games.
Secom (Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency) reported that the change to the crooked was provisional, citing the performance of “continuous maintenance” services. The folder stated that it was not any major work or intervention and that repairs were carried out through engineering contracts already in force – no new bid was opened.
“There are no works or reforms in the palace of Alvorada, but corrective and preventive maintenance of continuous character. The services are performed through the contracts that serve all buildings of the Presidency Complex,” he said.
