The federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL) It should file a proposal for amendment to the Constitution (PEC) on Tuesday (25) that proposes the end of the 6 × 1 work scale and the reduction of the weekly day to 36 hours.
The parliamentarian gathered 234 signatures, more than the minimum necessary for the proposal to advance in the House of Representatives.
“It was months of articulation and struggle, still far from over, and that put our agenda for dignity in a privileged position in the national debate,” wrote Erika on their social networks on Monday (24).
In the coming days, the deputy meets with the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans), to discuss the progress of PEC.
Currently, the Constitution allows hours of up to eight hours per day and 44 hours per week, which is equivalent to six days of work with a day off. Hilton’s proposal aims to change this rule, establishing a load of eight hours per day and 36 hours per week, which would result in a four -day working day and three rest.
PEC advocates argue that change would reduce the physical and mental wear of workers. Centro-right business and parliamentary sectors claim that the flexibility of the journey should be treated directly between employers and employees, fearing financial impacts on companies.
