Matheus Cunha has been asserting herself as one of Wolverhampton’s most important players and, for fans, is already a true idol. After the best time of his career last year, with 14 goals and eight assists in 36 games, the Brazilian striker has shown that this season can be even more special.
In just 28 games, he has already equaled his goals record last season, but the last one he scored had a very special meaning. Prior to the departure against Bournemouth, Cunha visited Junior, a young Wolves who is fighting cancer. During the meeting he made him a promise: he would devote his next goal, celebrating with a ‘j’ drawn with both hands.
And so it was. In the game, pointing the goal of victory, the striker fulfilled the promise, at a time that thrilled fans and teammates. Even André, another of the Brazilians of the squad, joined the tribute.
