In 2003 he became the youngest artist ever to win a better actor Oscar. It is now, 22 years later, again in the race in the same category. It is known for its roles in “The Pianist” and “Great Budapest Hotel”.

It reaches the Oscars as one of the favorites to victory. Adrien Brody, the protagonist of “The Brutalist” is not a rookie in these wanderings. In 2003, for the role in “The Pianist” took home the golden statuette and became the younger artist to win the best actor award.

He was born in New York, Queens, and from an early age that began to take theater classes. He even studied at Stony Brook University in Long Island, but quickly began working with major filmmakers like Francis Ford Coppola (“New York Stories”) and Steven Soderbergh (“King of the Hill”).

The 20 season was worked and eventually came to one of the most important roles of his career.

“The Pianist”: the first big role

In 2002, he plunges into the life of Wladyslaw Szpilman, a Jewish pianist who worked on a radio in Warsaw when World War II began. The actor immersed in the role in such a way that he lost about 30 pounds and spent four hours a day learning to play piano.

He also decided to isolate the world. He left home, stopped having mobile phones and left for Europe with only two bags. An action that then made him spend several months trying to readap up for ancient life while fighting eating disorders.

The film was awarded internationally, won three Oscars – Best Director, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay – Two Baves – Best Movie and Best Director – and the Golden Palm in Cannes.

There were several other projects, including “King Kong” (2005), “Cadillac Records” (2008) and “midnight in Paris” (2011). In 2014, he participated in “Greater Budapest Hotel” and “Hardini”.

The Great Return with “The Brutalist”

This year returns to international awards, with “The Brutalist” and is highlighted in the race for Oscars with 10 nominations. But backwards, there have been several climbing to the stage to thank the awards. The shelf is already on the Golden Globe, Bafta and Critic’s Choice Awards.

“The Bruly” debuted in 2024 at the Venice Festival, where Brady Corbet received the silver lion for better direction. He was critically acclaimed and elected by the American Film Institute as one of the top ten of last year.

In the movie Brody interprets László Tath, a Jewish architect, born in Hungary, who can survive the Holocaust and emigrates to the United States in 1947 to escape poverty. Then he tries to sing until, when he meets a rich client, his life changes forever.
