Straw mushrooms are a species of edible mushrooms from Southeast Asia, where they are grown on rice strawwhich explains their name. In Asia, they are available fresh, while in Poland we will most often meet them in dried or canned form.
In terms of taste, straw mushrooms are delicate, slightly sweet and have a soft, silky texture. Thanks to this, they blend in well with various dishes, from soups to stir-fry dishes. Although in the world they are the third most commonly consumed mushrooms (after mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms), in Poland their popularity is just growing.
