The Civil Guard carried out an operation in a trade in the town of La Jonquera, located in Girona, on the border with the Pyrenees, and, according to the French media, the agents did not leave empty -handed.
The French medium He pointed out that “it is common knowledge” that the town “is known for being a small paradise of falsifications.” During the instactory, officials of the Department of Finance were present. A quick tour of the store (which the name was not revealed) confirmed its suspicions: many of the items sold for sale were false.
The merchandise found is valued at almost two million euros. “The agents found that there were articles exposed for sale such as bags, shoes, watches, sweatshirts or t -shirts, which did not have the proper packaging of the brands,” according to the media .
The police had the experience of a representative of the brands involved in this fraud in this operation. The latter was able to confirm the non -authenticity of the products sold.
The Civil Guard was seized during the inspection of 9,945 falsified items and the goods were valued at 1.93 million euros. The owner of the establishment is being investigated for an alleged crime against intellectual property.
