United States Secret Service agents shot an armed man near the White House at dawn on Sunday (9). The agency said in a statement that he received an alert about an individual on his way to Washington with “suicidal intention.”
The man is hospitalized, but did not have his health. The confrontation came after the secret service received a notice from local authorities about the individual who was from Indiana to Washignton by car on Saturday.
The vehicle was found at a White House block right after midnight. When approached by the agents, the man drew a gun, which generated reaction from the officers who fired at him. No agent was injured, the statement guarantees.
President Donald Trump is spending the weekend at his Florida home and was therefore not at the White House at the time of the confrontation.
