The Spain Under-20 Championship was the scene of a regrettable incident in the 1500-meter race, when Mario Palencia, losing 2nd place to Daniel López, acted aggressively. Passing the goal line, Palencia pushed Lopez, making him fall suddenly on the floor.
The act, both shocking and dangerous, left all dumbfounded and resulted in the immediate disqualification of Palencia.
