Pope Francis has had another peaceful night in the hospital. This was announced on Tuesday morning after the Vatican for the first time suggested that the 88-year-old Holy Father could soon be released from the hospital, TASR reports, according to AFP. After a quiet night, the Pope woke up around 8.00 am CET.
František was hospitalized on February 14 in Gemelli’s Roman Hospital with bronchitis, which later grew into two -sided pneumonia. Since then, the head of the Catholic Church has overcome several respiratory crises, the last 3 March.
After about a week of constant improvement of the Vatican on Monday evening, he informed that The Pope’s forecast is no longer “uncertain”, and its clinical condition continues to be stable. “The improvement recorded in previous days has been fixed, as confirmed by blood tests … and a good response to pharmacological treatment,” Vatican said.
He added, however, that Given the complexity of the clinical picture and the serious infection with which the Pope hospitalized, it will be necessary that he will continue in the upcoming days of pharmacological treatment in the hospital environment. As the AFP Vatican writes, this indicated that Francis could return home after the end of the treatment.
