Murtra shapes his closest circle in Telefónica and record at Sabadell to his chief of cabinet | Companies

Marc Murtra advances in the definition of his circle of closest collaborators in Telefónica. A week after designating De La Teleco, the company announced on Thursday two weight appointments in the organization chart. The company incorporates Álvaro Echevarría as the new director of the president’s office, where he will act as chief of staff (Cabinet Chief). Echevarría is currently Deputy Director General and Director of Institutional Relations and Corporate Security of Banco Sabadell, an entity in which he has occupied different positions of responsibility during his more than 22 years of experience in the bank presiding over Josep Oliu.

For his part, María García-Legaz, current director of the President’s office, will lead the new transformation office, from which he will give direct support to the CEO of Telefónica. García-Legaz has known for more than three decades the operations of the company and has held positions of responsibility in financial areas, relations with investors and in the presidency cabinet. Therefore, he will have the task of leading the announced “strategic reflection.”

Telefónica also announced on Thursday the signing of Piedad Álvarez de Arriba, who will hold the position of Global Security Director, reporting the Secretary General. Piedad Álvarez above is currently the head of the Central Cybercrime Unit of the Judicial Police. The company has also taken the opportunity to inform Miguel Sánchez’s departure, until now responsible for the area, who will fulfill 65 years and will end its professional stage in the coming weeks.

The changes announced this Thursday are added to the arrival of Javier de Paz to the Presidency of Movistar Plus+, by Sebas Muriel as responsible for the company’s digital area, Sofía Collado in charge of Telefónica Tech and Ana Porto as responsible for communication of the group; All of them known last week in a first organization chart advanced by Murtra, who agreed to the presidency of Telefónica almost two months ago.

Before announcing these new changes, Murtra had already assured the rest of the workforce that and strengthen the company’s position. At the same time, the novelty arrives less than twelve hours after the operator made their departure from Colombia public. The decision seems to have been well received by investors, and Teleco titles rise almost 2% on the morning of Thursday.
