This Monday (17) begins the trial involving the Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paquetá. The West Ham United player is accused by the English Federation (FA) of involvement to favor premier League games. Paquetá denies the accusations.
FA asks, according to the British newspaper The Guardiano. Judgment can last up to three weeks. Paquetá, if punished, may resort to the FA itself and, in a second moment, at the Arbitral Court of Sport (CAS).

“It is claimed that he has sought to directly influence progress, conduct or any other aspect or occurrence in these matches, intentionally seeking to receive a card from the referee for the improper purpose of affecting the betting market so that one or more people could profit,” said FA in an official statement.
Paquetá has published an answer on his social networks claiming that he cooperated with investigations and is innocent.
“I am extremely surprised and upset that FA has decided to accuse me. I cooperated with all the stages of the investigation and provided all the information I could during this 9 months. I deny the full accusations and I will fight with all my strength to clean my name. Due to the ongoing process, I will no longer provide comments, ”wrote the midfielder.
Subsequently, Paquetá received two new accusations. According to the English newspaper The Sun, Paquetá would have used another phone while FA was in possession of the athlete’s ‘original’ phone. Upon having the cell phone returned, the Brazilian would have thrown the ‘reserve’ cell phone out. The action can be seen as an obstruction in the investigation and may result in two aggravations in the complaint.
