The Minister of Planning and Budget, Bruno Moretti, was direct this Friday, 22nd, in ruling out possible readjustments in Bolsa Família. The statement was made, in a press interview, when asked by journalists during the presentation of the bimonthly income and expenses report: “No projection of adjustment.”
A possible increase in the benefit was reported in recent weeks as a possible government measure in an election year.
This Friday, the government froze R$23.7 billion in expenses from the 2026 Budget, according to the Primary Revenue and Expenses Assessment Report for the second two months, released by the Ministries of Planning and Finance.
In total, R$23.7 billion was blocked to meet the expenditure growth limit set out in the fiscal framework. The amount represents an additional R$22.1 billion compared to the report for the first two months, in which R$1.6 billion had been blocked.
