Talks about the ceasefire in Ukraine will take place on Sunday in Saudi Arabia, announced on Tuesday local time a special White House envoy Steve Witkoff a few hours after the call of US President Donald Trump with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. According to AFP and Reuters reports, TASR reports this.

The Russian President agreed to the proposal of Trump for Russia and Ukraine to stop mutual attacks on energy infrastructure for 30 days, the Kremlin said, adding that Putin gave the relevant order of the Russian army.

Trump and Putin agreed on Tuesday’s call that the shift to peace will begin by stopping the attacks on energy infrastructure, and the technical negotiations on the Maritime Gorge in the Black Sea, later a complete ceasefire and ultimately a permanent aiming. According to the White House, these interviews will start immediately in the Middle East.

Rubio and Waltz will not know who to negotiate

According to Witkoff, the US delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and the White House Advisor for National Security Michael Waltz. However, he did not state with whom he will negotiate, writes AFP.

“Until recently, we really had no consensus around these two aspects – ceasefires in the field of energy and infrastructure and moratorium for shooting in the Black Sea – and today we have reached this place and I think there is already a relatively short distance to a complete ceasefire,” Witkoff told Fox News.

“I think the Russians have already agreed with both of these questions.

Approaching peace agreement

When asked whether the proposed ceasefire would include only energy objectives or even energy and infrastructure goals, Witkoff replied that “it is energy and infrastructure in general,” AFP writes.

At the same time, Witkoff highlighted the Russian President “for everything he did in this call today to move his country close to the final peace agreement”.

According to Reuters, it is not clear whether Ukraine will also participate in the Jidda interviews.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Greenable on Tuesday said that it basically supports the 30-day stop of attacks on energy infrastructure in a war-spoken Russia against Ukraine. At the same time, he added that it is necessary to obtain “details” from Washington to the agreement, which is one of the results of Trump with Putin.

Meanwhile, Greeny, he accused Moscow of “practically refusing” a petition for a ceasefire, claiming that Russia after Putin’s call and Trump had been attacking the Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and also hit the hospital in the city.
