At least two people have died and several more have been injured in an Israeli bombing on the Nasser hospital surgery building, in Jan Yunis, in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israel has justified the “selective attack” against a member of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
“The occupation forces have attacked the surgical building of the Nasser Hospital, which houses numerous patients and injured, and there was a great fire,” said the Gazati Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas.
It has also confirmed the death of one of the patients and wounds of diverse consideration in several more people, including medical staff. The bombing “has sown panic and has caused the complete evacuation of the building, which has been destroyed largely.”
Among the deceased would be the member of the Executive Committee of Hamás Ismail Barhum, as reported by television Al Aqsa TV. Barhum was being treated in the hospital due to the “criticism” wounds that suffered last Tuesday in a bombing in Rafá in which his nephew, Mohamed Barhum, also died, according to the Palestinian news agency Sanad.
Israel has confirmed the bombing, a “selective attack against a key terrorist of the Hamas terrorist organization.” Israel points out that he has made a “thorough intelligence process” and that he has used “precision armament designed to minimize damage to the maximum”. He has also recriminated to Hamas to use civil infrastructure “that cruelly puts the population of Gaza at risk.”
