US designation came into force this Friday; senator said that measure will allow to financially stifle the factions
The senator and pre-candidate for President (PL-RJ) said this Friday (June 5, 2026) that the United States’ decision to classify the PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and the CV (Comando Vermelho) as “terrorist” organizations will allow the “financial suffocation” of the factions. Flávio stated that the measure was taken after its action with the United States government.
“The Brazilian State has lost space for crime. But we acted and now PCC and Comando Vermelho are international terrorist organizations. Which will allow their financial asphyxiation”declared the senator in a video published on social media.
The decision to designate the factions as terrorists was announced on May 28, 2026, days after Flávio’s decision with the North American president (Republican), held on May 26.
The designation made by the Trump administration this Friday (June 5). With the measure, Brazilian factions are subject to economic sanctions, including the freezing of assets and bank accounts of allies in North American territory and the restriction of global financial transactions that use the US system.
In the video, the senator also took advantage of the scenario to polarize with the government and defended the security agenda aimed at families. Without naming names, Flávio said that his political opponents are lenient with drug trafficking.
“We want to protect your children from drugs. But the other side seems to want to protect drug dealers. Those who don’t want help to combat criminal activity are because they have their backs tied to crime. Brazilian families have the right to walk the streets again without fear and live in peace”he stated.
